Small Changes, Big Success

It's 2020 so of course, many of us are making our resolutions. Something we've been trying to do recently with our community at CrossFit 1727 is to focus on small changes, little wins that we can improve upon. Often, when we make a lofty goal (which is great!), we overwhelm ourselves and give up. I think it's safe to say we've all been there!

So what is a better option? Small changes. Instead of saying, "I'm going to lose 30lbs, eat keto for 6 months and workout 7 days a week", start with a smaller goal and build upon it. That could be: I'm going to include a serving of vegetable in every meal, get 8 hours of sleep, make it to the gym or fitness center 3 days a week. Once that becomes a habit, add onto it. When we layer our goals in this manner, it will help it to be more doable. We recently ran a nutrition challenge at CrossFit 1727, based on this very process and the positive feedback was tremendous. We gave everyone a list of 7-10 habits and all they had to do was choose 3 and stick to them for 30 days. Our clients felt better, slept better and didn't feel like it was so restrictive that they would give up. As you can see, with small changes you can have big success.
